Relieved ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Relieved app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from Google.
- Display name — an optional name you choose to appear alongside your reviews instead of your real name.
- Reviews and ratings — star ratings and optional text you submit for toilet facilities.
- Location — your device's approximate location is used to show nearby toilets and is never stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To display your reviews and ratings within the app.
- To allow you to manage your display name and account.
- To improve the accuracy and quality of toilet data shown in the app.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Storage
Your account data and reviews are stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform. Data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Sign-In — authentication handled by Google. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap — toilet location data is sourced from OpenStreetMap, an open geographic database. No personal data is shared with OpenStreetMap.
- Supabase — data storage and authentication backend. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
5. Guest Users
If you use the app as a guest, no account is created and no personal information is collected or stored. Location is used locally on your device only.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to processing of your data.

7. Data Retention
We retain your account data and reviews for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Reviews may be anonymised and retained to preserve the usefulness of the public database.
8. Children's Privacy
Relieved is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
